FACE ME - Never Kiss a Tory

To begin my exploration with portrait photography, I spent time in Layomi’s Space.

SUMMARY. I wanted to convey the energy of Layomi’s Space within my photos. I find it fascinating how in the present, we are paradoxically creating the past. I emulated the sense of nostalgia that we all can feel even in the present. It’s beautiful yet heart aching to experience precious moments because we know that it will eventually end. However, through these frustrations, we find joy, humour and genuine connection. Such is the human experience,

STYLING. Inspired by her room decor and the message it spoke to me, I styled her in a casual preppy sweater vest paired with relaxed jeans that stayed unbottoned at the top. There is something so carefree about the way her Space was arranged. It was political and poignant but did not take itself too seriously. I styled her accordlingly to how I perceived Layomi’s Space.
